Woman held for child neglect

Limpopo - A Limpopo woman was arrested on Sunday morning after she allegedly dumped her child in Mankweng, Zone F, police said.

Patrolling police found the five-month-old child on the side of the main road around 10pm on Saturday, Constable Moses Molepo said.

Molepo said police searched for the mother. A tip-off led to the arrest of the 28-year-old woman who confessed to dumping the baby boy.

The child would be taken to a place of safety.

The woman would appear in the Mankweng Magistrate's Court on Tuesday on a charge of child neglect. - Sapa
