Two in court over NFP killing

Two brothers accused of killing a National Freedom Party member appeared in the Umlazi Magistrate's Court on Monday, KwaZulu-Natal police said.

The case against Muzi, 29, and Xolani Ntuli, 32, was postponed to Tuesday for them to get legal representation, Captain Thulani Zwane said.

Zwane said the men remained in custody.

They were charged with the murder of NFP member Mthunzi Gwala who was shot last month.

Gwala's body was found lying on the road in Umlazi's T-section with four gunshot wounds in the head.

“Police on Friday pounced on the brothers at Umlazi's T-section while they were asleep in their room,” Zwane said.

The motive for the murder was unknown. - Sapa
