Cape Town - Three men have been arrested in connection with the murder of an eight-year-old boy and an attack on a woman in Cape Town, Western Cape police said on Thursday.
The first man was taken into custody on Saturday, Captain Frederick van Wyk said.
Further investigations led to the arrest of the other two on Thursday.
The boy, Junaid McKenzie, was shot on the evening of June 27 at Melody Square in Steenberg.
“(He) was playing near people who were playing dominoes under a lamp pole... Shots were fired and he (was hit). A 32-year-old woman was shot in the back,” Van Wyk said.
McKenzie died in hospital from his injuries.
The three men would appear in the Wynberg Magistrate's Court soon on charges of murder and attempted murder. - Sapa
