Melmoth, Durban -
Nine men implicated in the murder of a man in Melmoth were arrested on Thursday, KwaZulu-Natal police said.
Captain Thulani Zwane said Mkhubuvele Biyela, 56, was stabbed and shot at his homestead on June 18 after his brother was arrested for killing another man, Bhekokwakhe Mtshali, 53.
Mtshali was shot dead while attending a traditional function on June 10.
Zwane said Biyela's murder was believed to be a revenge attack by the Mtshali family.
During the arrest, police seized three shotguns, a pistol, a homemade pistol and several spears believed to have been used in the murder of Biyela.
The men, aged between 28 and 58, would appear in the Melmoth Magistrate's Court on Friday. - Sapa
