Kirkwood, Eastern Cape - A woman accused of dumping her newborn baby appeared in the Kirkwood Magistrate's Court on Monday, Eastern Cape police said.

Naomi Booysen, 24, would be back in court on Friday, Lt-Col Priscilla Naidu said.

The woman was arrested on Wednesday last week. She remained in custody.

A teenager found the woman's baby dumped in the bushes in August. - Sapa
