A 20-year-old man appeared in the Mankweng Magistrate's Court on Tuesday in connection with the rape of a six-year-old boy, said Limpopo police.
The two lived in the same street in Tjatjaneng.
Constable Moses Molepo said the rape took place at the weekend, while the boy's family was attending a gathering in the area.
“It is alleged that the suspect lured the boy to nearby bushes and raped him,” said Molepo.
The boy's father reported the crime and a doctor confirmed the incident.
The matter was postponed to Wednesday and the man would remain in custody. - Sapa
