Klerksdorp - Police were continuing a search on Monday for the killers of a 96-year-old woman and her 55-year-old gardener in Klerksdorp, North West police said.

“Investigations continue in the case, but no arrests have been made,” Captain Amanda Funani said.

“We will leave no stone unturned and are following up on all possible leads.”

On Sunday, police confirmed that the bodies of Elizabeth Louw and Gert Marks were discovered in Louw's house in Wilkopies on Saturday afternoon.

“It is alleged that both victims were suffocated and strangled. The old woman was tied with shoe laces on her feet and arms before she was killed,” Funani said at the time.

“The perpetrators fled the scene with the deceased's jewellery and an undisclosed amount of money.”

Funani said Louw's sister became suspicious when she did not answer or return her calls. - Sapa
