A man accused of killing seven people while drag racing appeared in the Tshaulu Periodical Court on Tuesday, Limpopo police said.
“His case has been postponed to July 31 for further investigation,” Brigadier Hangwani Mulaudzi said.
Mphedziseni Mawela, 28, faces seven charges of murder, three of attempted murder and one of driving under the influence of alcohol.
He was granted R2000 bail on March 27.
On March 10, Mawela was allegedly drag racing in Tshivhilwi village, Thohoyandou, when his car veered out of control and crashed into a group of pedestrians. Seven people, including two children aged 12 and 13, were killed. Four others, including Mawela, were injured.
Mawela was discharged from hospital on March 23 and made his first court appearance on March 26. Sapa
