Child killed in house fire

A child died and its mother was severely burnt when they were trapped in a burning house in Richards Bay early Sunday morning, paramedics said.

Netcare 911 spokesman Chris Botha said: “After the fire was extinguished the body of a child, presumed to be a boy aged around four, was found burnt beyond recognition”.

The woman was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
