Boy, 9, dies in crash

Durban - A boy died when he was hit by a taxi near Folweni, south of Durban, on Friday morning, paramedics said.

A paramedic found the nine-year-old boy lying in the road with his family around him, said ER24 spokesman Derrick Banks.

“The paramedic assessed him and found the young boy had sustained very traumatic and fatal injuries and was declared deceased on the scene.”

The taxi driver returned to the scene with local officials after telling them what happened. The accident occurred at 7.45am. - Sapa
