Rustenburg - A Lonmin platinum miner accused of possessing platinum illegally appeared in the Rustenburg Magistrate's Court on Monday, North West police said.

The case against Benjamin Thetsekine, 37, was postponed until April 19.

He is out on bail of R800.

Thetsekine was allegedly found in possession of platinum powder worth an estimated R800 000. - Sapa
