11 vehicles in Midrand collision

Johannesburg -

Around 11 vehicles were involved in a collision on the N1 just outside Midrand on Saturday, metro police said.

Johannesburg metro spokesman Superintendent Wayne Minaar said the incident occurred at the New Road offramp.

“The details of the incident are unclear but motorists in that area are requested to use caution and to keep their headlights on,” said Minaar.

Earlier, the weather service reported that rain and large hail had struck the area. - Sapa
