A man died and four other people were injured when their bakkie overturned in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal, on Friday, paramedics said.
It appeared the driver lost control of the vehicle on Edendale Road around 2pm, ER24 spokesman Derrick Banks said.
“The bakkie veered off the road and crashed into a property wall, killing one passenger on the scene,” he said.
Paramedics found the body and the injured, including the driver, at the scene.
Two of the injured people were in a serious condition, while the others were in a critical condition with multiple head injuries.
They were taken to a local hospital. – Sapa
